What it lacks in convenience, it makes up for in practicality.
Explanation: it’s a bit cumbersome to secure the joby so you can frame the shot. Definitely easier with a conventional tripod and head. However, it’s so light weight, that you can actually carry it around with you everywhere without thinking twice about it. I hardly ever take my conventional tripod with me when hiking, missing out on those twilight or evening shots. And I think twice about packing the conventional tripod when going on vacation. Not so with the joby. I always have it in my bag.
