I have had 2 other tripods and this one is by far the best. The ball head is adequate for my canon xti with a 28-135mm lens with no problem. The adjustable legs allow you to get down fairly low. Not as low as many of the professional tripods, but works great for a hobbyist or amateur and the price is excellent. It is also very easy to transport as it is pretty light.
